All Forces Involved In Tigray War Committed War Crimes _ US

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the US has confirmed that all forces involved in the Tigray army have committed war crimes.

The bilinkan's comments came after he returned from a visit to Ethiopia last week.

Those involved in the war: Members of the Ethiopian Defense Forces, Eritrean soldiers, TPLF militants and Amhara regional forces committed war crimes, he said.

There has been no comment from the Ethiopian, Eritrean and TPLF governments on Blilinkan's allegations.

The two-year war in northern Ethiopia has claimed thousands of lives, starved hundreds of thousands and displaced millions.

Members of the Ethiopian Defense Forces, Eritrean Defense Forces and Amhara militants committed humanitarian crimes in Tigray such as torture, murder, rape and ethnic sexual crimes, Anthony Bilinkan said.

Reuters reported that Anthony Bilinkan said members of the Amhara militants in West Tigray have committed atrocities that would eliminate Tigrayans from the region.

Anthony Bilinkan said during a working visit to Ethiopia last week that the process of implementing the security agreement is encouraging.

however, there is no consensus on issues to bring about military peace.

He said the implementation of the agreement is crucial to restore Ethiopia to the AGOA.

After checking the situation during the visit, they said that war crimes had been committed.

Anthony Billin is the first senior US official to visit Ethiopia since the war in northern Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian government and Tigray forces signed a peace deal last March to resolve the two-year bloody war.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's spokeswoman Billane Siyyum said Bilinkan stressed during his talks with both sides that war crimes were believed to have been committed and the perpetrators should be held accountable.

The war violated human rights , extrajudicial killings, rapes, looting, and forced displacement were described by human rights organizations.

All parties involved in the war, however, deny the allegations.

The US has been at the forefront of describing crimes against humanity committed by Ethiopian government troops and Eritrean forces as well as militants in the Amhara region during the Tigray war.

Ethiopia, however, has been defending the US charges in the name of interference and violation of its sovereignty.
